Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, with a Solid focus on Python and PySpark as primary development languages Develop and maintain data models and data warehouses for analytics and reporting Optimize performance of large-scale data transformations using Spark and Delta Lake, leveraging advanced Python and PySpark capabilities Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver high-quality datasets Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate; Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate. Overall 5+ years of experience 3+ years of experience in data engineering roles Cloud Platforms: Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake) Experience with Delta Lake and serverless compute Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Programming: PySpark, SQL; familiarity with Python or Scala Data Engineering Tools: Azure Data Factory, Databricks notebooks Data Modeling: Star and Snowflake schemas Version Control: Git integration with Databricks Solid understanding of performance optimization techniques (partitioning, caching, broadcast joins) Preferred Qualification: Experience with Snowflake At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
