Description

About the job

Data Engineering Lead – Up to £50,000 + Bonus + Civil Service Pension + Hybrid (Stratford, London)

We’re partnered with a global education technology business that is undergoing an agentic AI transformation, and they’re looking for an analytics professional who can help shape how that change is measured.

The successful candidate will need hands-on experience with GA4, including practical work such as UTM tracking, event and conversion setup, and attribution modelling across the customer funnel. Just as important is the ability to take ambiguous business questions and turn them into clear, well-defined metrics from scratch, working with stakeholders to agree what should be measured and why, rather than only reporting on metrics that are already established.

They’ll also need proven experience designing semantic models in Power BI, with a solid grasp of data structure, relationships and DAX, and the confidence to explain their design choices

  • What you’ll doDefine new performance and value metrics with stakeholders
  • Build scalable pipelines and ETL/ELT processes across operational, financial, project and marketing data
  • Design Power BI semantic models and executive dashboards (Power BI, Fabric or Tableau)
  • Automate monitoring and alerting for risks and trends
  • Champion data governance, quality and security

  • What we’re looking forEnterprise-scale data engineering experience, including warehouses, lakes and modern analytics platforms
  • Advanced Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric skills
  • Strong ETL/ELT and Azure and/or AWS knowledge
  • Experience of digital transformation programmes
  • Understanding of cyber security and regulatory requirements
  • The ability to explain technical ideas to senior non-technical audiences

Desirable: PMO, portfolio or benefits-realisation experience; financial modelling; line management; Fabric, Power BI or Tableau certifications.
