WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will step into a newly-created, strategic leadership role overseeing the evolution of our data platform. You will provide both technical and people leadership, driving transformation and efficiency for internal and SaaS client data solutions. You will lead a talented team of data engineers to design scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures and pipelines that support marketing performance, analytics, and strategic initiatives, and play a pivotal role in modernising, consolidating, and commercialising our data infrastructure.
In this role, you will lead a team of two data engineers and report to the GM of Saas & Managed Services, collaborating regularly with senior executives, analysts, product, engineering, and SaaS clients. Your leadership will ensure best practices in data governance, quality, and security are upheld while fostering innovation and continuous improvement within your team. WHAT YOU’LL BE ABLE TO BRING TO THE ROLE

• Proven experience in data engineering, including a leadership role, ideally with SaaS/client-facing project delivery
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures and automated pipelines in cloud environments, including migration from legacy systems
• Experience leading transformation projects and delivering end-to-end migration or commercialisation initiatives for enterprise and SME clients
• Proficiency in Bash, SQL, Python, Spark, and dbt; familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security best practices
• Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, reliability, and automation
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable
• Experience or interest in the betting, gaming, or lottery industries is a plus
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across analytics, product, marketing, and engineering teams
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging data engineering trends and technologies
  Salary Banding: $170,000 - $200,000 AUD + Super
