PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design and implement a scalable and modern data use platform to be shared across government
  • Lead a team of technical professionals to design and implement a modern data use platform, prioritizing and assigning work, and ensuring legacy systems are maintained until sunset
  • Design and implement repeatable data pipelines to integrate data into the platform
  • Develop and implement maintenance and support processes for the platform, ensuring partners have reliable access during business hours
  • Provide coaching and guidance to partners on how to use and interact with the data platformRemain current with industry and academic developments and standards, including maintaining a portfolio of tools to manage the data platform

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this opportunity:

You’re a systems thinker with strong hands-on experience—equally comfortable designing cloud data platforms, leading technical teams, and navigating organizational complexity. You bring the following to the role:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • You possess strong experience in data engineering, ETL development, data modeling, and integrating data from diverse systems.
  • You have demonstrated proficiency with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • You have hands-on experience designing, building, and operating scalable, secure data infrastructure—especially in large or complex environments.
  • You have a track record of leading technical teams or multidisciplinary projects in data or digital settings.
  • You are confident communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You possess the ability to guide others through change, prioritize work amidst ambiguity, and foster collaboration across government.
