Description
We’re looking for a Data Governance Specialist to join the data team of one of our clients in the financial markets sector. You’ll play a key role in improving how enterprise data assets are managed, documented, and governed — ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance across a complex and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Keep data assets accurately documented in the Enterprise Data Catalog. Manage metadata (glossary, lineage) and ensure proper usage and flow of data across systems. Maintain data lineage and automate updates across tools used for tracking and governance. Support data classification, tagging, and quality monitoring for critical information. Collaborate with business and IT teams to define and enforce data standards and validation rules. Act as a point of contact for data governance within your domain and promote data literacy across teams. Gather stakeholder needs, help prioritize them, and contribute to a clear data roadmap. 3+ years of experience in data management, business analysis, or similar roles. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management. Familiarity with Data Catalogs, Data Quality, and Observability tools. Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages for automation. Basic understanding of Git/GitHub/GitLab. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). Background in federated or decentralized data environments is a plus. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
