Description Briljent is seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH). In this role, you will translate data governance strategy into actionable processes, draft and socialize policy frameworks, and provide project management support across governance forums and working groups. This is a high-visibility consulting engagement requiring strong writing skills, deep attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Translate data governance strategy into actionable processes, standards, and controls. Draft and socialize policies and procedures covering data stewardship, data quality, metadata management, access, and retention. Support governance forums including councils, work groups, and committees — including agenda setting, meeting facilitation, note-taking, and decision log management. Define metadata standards and support MDM/reference data processes. Manage project management activities such as action item tracking, meeting organization, and stakeholder communications. Produce clean, polished written deliverables with minimal rework. Example Deliverables Data Management Strategy Roadmapping and Implementation Planning Data Governance Policies, Standards, and SOPs Business Glossary and Metadata Management Toolkit Stewardship RACI Matrix, Training Materials, and Communications Requirements 5 or more years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related discipline. Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce clear, precise documentation with minimal revisions. Strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills. Experience supporting governance committees, working groups, or advisory bodies. Proficiency in project management activities including facilitation and stakeholder engagement. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the healthcare sector. Familiarity with Medicaid programs and/or NYS Medicaid specifically. Prior consulting or state government engagement experience.
