Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of data governance practices across the organisation. This role operates within the Enterprise Data and Analytics team and plays a key part in advancing data governance capabilities to support two major strategic initiatives.
The position serves as a bridge between business and IT, ensuring that data governance requirements are clearly defined and integrated into project delivery. It involves close collaboration with data specialists, security, and compliance teams to help drive organisational data governance maturity and ensure alignment with enterprise data management standards.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to data migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accurate and complete data transfer.
  • Collect and document business and data requirements through stakeholder engagement, including interviews, workshops, and process analysis.
  • Perform comprehensive testing and validation to maintain data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process.
  • Support the Data Governance Manager with data assessments, including profiling, classification, lineage analysis, custodianship mapping, sensitivity validation, and issue management.
  • Identify gaps in existing data processes and recommend training or project-based solutions to enhance data governance capabilities.
  • Support the implementation and management of data governance tools and technologies, and interpret data profiling results to identify data quality issues such as missing, default, or inconsistent values.
