Description
Summary Experienced Datastage Developer (Production Support & Enhancements) — responsible for resolving production defects, delivering enhancements, and interfacing with clients. Must be strong in IBM DataStage, Oracle, UNIX, Control-M scheduling, and analytical problem solving. Snowflake experience is a plus. Required technical skills - IBM InfoSphere DataStage (developer & admin familiarity) — job design, parallel jobs, parameterization, shared containers, etc. - Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills — query tuning, indexes, partitioning awareness. - Solid UNIX/Linux skills — shell scripting, job logs, file handling and basic process troubleshooting. - Production scheduling with Control M (or similar) — job definitions, dependencies, calendars, alerts. - Proven experience diagnosing and resolving production ETL issues under SLA pressure. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to trace data flow and isolate defects across systems. - Experience with version control, CICD/release processes and deployment across environments. - Good written and verbal communication; comfortable in client-facing situations. Key responsibilities - Own and resolve DataStage production incidents and bugs end-to-end, including root-cause analysis, fixes, regression testing, and deployment to production. - Implement and test enhancement requests and change requests (CRs) in the DataStage environment following SDLC and release processes. - Design, develop, and optimize DataStage jobs and parallel jobs for batch and real-time data integration scenarios. - Perform performance tuning of DataStage jobs, database SQL (Oracle), and UNIX processes to meet SLAs. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production ETL pipelines; respond to alerts and follow incident management procedures. - Work with Control M (or equivalent schedulers) to design, monitor and maintain job schedules and dependencies; troubleshoot scheduling failures.
Responsibilities
The role involves owning and resolving DataStage production incidents and implementing enhancement requests following SDLC processes. Responsibilities include designing, optimizing, and monitoring ETL pipelines and managing job schedules via Control-M.
