JOB DESCRIPTION:

Tobin Scientific is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented DataInventory Management Specialist (Co-op/Intern) to join our team for a critical project. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in a significant data migration initiative, ensuring the accurate transfer of inventory data between systems. This will involve thorough data cleanup, meticulous verification, and precise physical labeling of items.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of a car and a valid driver’s license for local travel.
  • Availability to work in-person.
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant program such as Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formulas, data manipulation).
  • Demonstrated skills in attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with inventory verification and labeling, including standing for long periods, operating a pallet jack (training provided), and lifting/moving boxes.
  • Familiarity with inventory management concepts or systems is a plus.
    Duration: Immediate start, with a commitment through the end of 2025 and a high possibility of extension into the first quarter of 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Extract and prepare inventory data from an existing system for migration to a new system, primarily utilizing Excel.
  • Perform thorough data cleanup and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency of inventory records.
  • Conduct physical inventory verification, including counting, inspecting, and reconciling items against digital records.
  • Physically tag and label inventory items with new labels as part of the migration process.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory data, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth data transfer and minimize disruption.
  • Document processes and procedures related to data migration and inventory management.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives related to data handling and inventory.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, especially concerning data integrity and inventory control.
