Description:
The Data Lead will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization’s data infrastructure for selected projects. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in data management, analytics, and governance. The Data Lead will collaborate across departments to ensure data is effectively utilized to drive business insights, optimize processes, and support decision-making for selected projects.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in database systems (SQL, NoSQL), ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in data management or analytics (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the data domain
Responsibilities:
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Lead and mentor the data team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization, providing thought leadership on data best practices.
Data Management and Architecture
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture and pipelines.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of data systems.
- Partner with IT and other teams to manage data storage, integration, and processing platforms.
Analytics and Insights
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and other visualization tools.
- Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and AI, where applicable.
Data Governance and Compliance
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of data practices and systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units to align data initiatives with business objectives.
- Present findings, strategies, and results to senior management and key stakeholders.
