This is a unique opportunity to shape our data strategy, implement new solutions and deliver on some big projects. About the role - Mō te tūranga As our Data Lead, you’ll be in a pivotal role where you’re going to be working closely with your key stakeholders. You’ll bring fresh ideas and best practice to deliver real impact across the business. Key responsibilities include: Shape the first version of our data operating model: ways of working, prioritisation, quality gates, lightweight governance. Lead delivery of high‑impact initiatives while mentoring a small team (starting with a Data Analyst) to deliver meaningful outcomes fast. Partner with cross‑functional leaders to set the analytics roadmap that supports a wider transformation and the shift from on‑premise to cloud. Champion clarity: translate complexity into simple narratives that drive decisions at pace. Deliver actionable insights and identify opportunities for automation and predictive modelling What will you bring? – Ōu Pūkenga? Additionally, you’ll bring: Minimum 5 years’ experience in data lead, analytics, or data engineering roles Demonstrated commercial experience with Python and SQL Proven expertise in AI/ML and cloud technologies Experience in a top 200 company (transport and logistics, manufacturing, telco, or power sector preferred) Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Your Benefits - Ō Painga We look after our people.
