We are seeking a highly motivated Data Management expert to join our National Intelligence Program to lead the lifecycle of data services from the start of ingestion to consumer delivery. The candidate will oversee the data ecosystem to include data services, infrastructure, and governance. The ideal candidate will be able to efficiently and effectively manage our data infrastructure and ensure that data flows smoothly across the organization and that the data lifecycle is managed in full compliance with customer data management standards. This position is in Bethesda, MD.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information management, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in a data management role with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience with database management, data governance, and data warehousing.
  • Proficient in managing client/server environments, virtual systems, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across various departments.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand data system requirements and forecast future data needs.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce policies for effective data management, forming an excellent control environment for data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle processes.
  • Design and implement data strategies that support organizational goals, including the transition to cloud-based systems where appropriate.
  • Oversee the management of all databases and data storage systems, both on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Lead the data services team to guarantee that data is easily accessible yet secure from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Monitor data management costs and develop budgetary plans, aligning them with the efficient use of data across the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of the latest innovations in data processing and data analytics technologies.
  • Create a disaster recovery and business continuity plan for critical data and oversee regular backup processes.
  • Manage a team of data professionals, including database administrators, data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, service providers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure data consistency and accessibility.
