POSITION SUMMARY  The Data Management Specialist is a key member of the Red Hill Registry Team, working at the intersection of data collection and analysis for the Red Hill Registry within the University Health Partners of Hawaiʻi. This position focuses on collecting data through questionnaires, cleaning and storing data, and conducting basic data analyses. This role requires a highly organized individual committed to data integrity and the protection of sensitive information. The Data Management Specialist may also sometimes be asked to represent the Registry at community events, contribute to strategies that advance program goals, and directly engage the community regarding referrals and resources. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS  The Data Management Specialist will: * Report to the Operations Manager, with direct supervision from the Enrollment and Survey Administration Manager, to support data collection and data management activities. * Aid in data collection and data cleaning efforts. * Respond to data requests from program staff, as needed. * Assist in developing monthly, quarterly, and annual Registry reports for internal and external stakeholders.  * Share and interpret information in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations, as well as UHP Compliance, Security, and Patient Privacy policies, and other relevant UHP policies. * Provide data and technical expertise to data-related workgroups and Registry projects as needed.  * Establish and maintain regular communications regarding data status, strategy and needs with relevant UHP and Red Hill Registry staff. * Work shifts sitting at a desk in an air-conditioned environment speaking with team members, community members, or performing data management, evaluation, or community engagement tasks.   * Support scientific dissemination efforts (e.g., literature searches/review) and outcomes/products (e.g., poster/presentation, program evaluation material). * Support the marketing and communications team efforts to promote the registry with data analysis products. * Comply with all legal requirements and organizational policies.  * Perform other duties as assigned.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  Education/Training/Experience  * Bachelor's degree in data science, biology, epidemiology,  public health, health informatics, health education, computer sciences, health sciences, psychology, statistics, or a related field. * 1+ years of experience related to data evaluation, research methodology, and statistics. * 1+ years of experience cleaning or managing large health datasets utilizing basic and contemporary statistics methods and software.    and at least one of the following: * 1+ years of experience working with federally funded projects within higher education systems. * 1+ years of working knowledge of coding software and data analysis platforms such as R, SAS, Python, or similar tools. * Experience working with REDCap software. * 1+ years of working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in the area of community health, social work, or public health, demonstrated through familiarity with the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.   Skills Knowledge  * Reliable transportation to travel to the office and community events. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and verbal presentation skills in the English language.  * Ability to connect with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including those who have experienced a traumatic event, with compassion and empathy. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.  * Effective organizational, planning, and time-management skills.  * Strong attention to detail.   BENEFITS    * Generous time off benefits  * 100% employee health and dental coverage and vision   * Flexible spending plan    * Retirement plan with up to 3% dollar-for-dollar company matching contributions * 100% company paid group Life/AD&D/LTD insurance   * Employee assistance program (EAP)  * Pet Insurance, Prepaid legal with competitive rates       UHP Hawai‘i is an EEO/AAP employer.
