Job Description: Tamayo Federal Solutions, LLC, is hiring a Data Manager Level 2 to support the Polio Eradication Branch (PEB) in the Global Immunization Division (GID) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position is located in Atlanta, GA.
We are seeking Data Manager Level 2 that will be part of an energetic, results driven team. The Data Management Support Services project provides on-going data management support services to the Statistics and Data Management Activity (SDMA) and the Polio Eradication Branch (PEB) in the Global Immunization Division (GID) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Data Manager will support several areas of work related to polio eradication and vaccine preventable disease prevention to prepare data entry programs, analytic databases, and corresponding documentation, and to provide computer programming support for project analyses.

What You’ll Get to do:

  • Provide on-site data management services to the PEB Branch
  • Develop plans to link laboratory data with epidemiologic data
  • Perform data management and data cleaning to produce analytic datasets, including troubleshooting and correcting errors in datasets
  • Pre-process data and be able to lead the process
  • Build surveillance indicator files at district and regional levels
  • Produce corresponding data dictionaries and documentation with deliverables
  • Complete descriptive data analyses, including summary tables and figures, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of data analyses
  • Provide annotated programming code that documents cleaning and data management
  • Use agreed upon software (listed below) to solve a variety of problems in database structure, management, and analytics as necessary to complete defined tasks (solutions will not require high-level coding languages such as Python, Ruby, etc.)
  • Generate maps of epidemiologic data using appropriate geographic information software (GIS)
  • Produce maps of disease occurrence and disease risk as measured by immunization program indicators for surveillance, vaccination coverage, or other related programmatic indicators
  • Exhibit general knowledge of Epidemiology Terminology with specific knowledge of polio while conducting all tasks associated with this service.
  • Design and create data entry programs and databases for studies and surveys conducted by Division staff
  • Design and create data entry programs to handle different types of data (e.g. numeric, character, date fields) and incorporate skip patters and different checks as appropriate
  • Monitor project data during studies (ranging from a few weeks to 6-12 months in duration) to complete data checks to ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy

Requirements:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications (required)

  • Proficient regular use of R Statistical software, including R Studio and Tidyverse

At least 4 years of experience as a Data Manager, Data Programmer, or Data Analyst supporting public health and/or vaccine preventable disease programs
At least 2 years of experience and high-level expertise and coding experience in R statistical software specifically using R Studio, R Studio applications and Tidyverse. Must be able to receive general tasking and data and be able to work independently to design/develop assigned project data analysis tasks using R statistical software and associated software tools/applications.
At least 2 years of experience in Open Data Kit (ODK)
Strong attention to detail with an affinity and desire to work with data
Ability to balance assignments, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team
Strong experience with geographic information software (GIS)
Expert level experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
At least 2 years of experience in following database entry programs:
Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro)
Microsoft Access
RedCap
Familiarity with SAS, STATA, SPSS, or EPI Info

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Master’s Degree in Public Health, Systems Analysis, Computer Programming, or related field
