Job Description Conceptual, Logical, & Physical Modeling Design and maintain all levels of data models, from high-level conceptual diagrams to detailed, implementation-ready physical schemas. Business Requirement Translation Work closely with finance stakeholders and business analysts to understand intricate business processes and translate them into formal data structures and relationships. Data Dictionary & Metadata Management Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and metadata repository, ensuring every data element is clearly defined, documented, and understood. Data Integrity & Quality Ensure the highest levels of data integrity and quality by embedding business rules, constraints, and quality checks directly into your data model designs. Collaboration with Engineering Partner with data engineers to ensure your models are implemented accurately and efficiently, providing clear specifications and guidance for development. Model Evolution & Maintenance Own the lifecycle of your data models, evolving and adapting them as business needs and source systems change over time. Qualifications Educational qualification: MBA Finance or Bachelor / Masters Degree in any IT Field (with Data Analytics focus) Experience Several years of professional experience in a similar role (Data Engineer, BI Specialist, Data Scientist) with a clear focus on the financial sector. Mandatory/requires Skills : Data Modeling Expertise Proven, extensive experience as a Data Modeler, with a strong portfolio of creating and managing complex logical and physical data models (e.g., ERDs, dimensional models). Methodologies & Tools Deep knowledge of data modeling methodologies (e.g., Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault) and hands-on experience with industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin, Sparx EA). Technical Foundation Expert-level SQL skills are essential. You must be able to write complex queries to analyze source data and validate your models. Python knowledge is a plus. Domain Knowledge Strong understanding of financial and controlling processes is critical. Prior experience modeling data for SAP FI/CO modules is highly advantageous. Platform Knowledge Experience designing data models specifically for modern data platforms like Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta Lake) and traditional data warehouses. Attention to Detail An exceptionally meticulous and detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for creating order and clarity from complexity. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
