REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling roles within enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques: normalization, denormalization, relational and dimensional modeling.
  • Proven ability to design data warehouse schemas (fact/dimension tables).
  • Proficiency in SQL for schema development, data profiling, and validation.
  • Experience using one or more data modeling tools, such as:

o ER/Studio, Erwin Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner, IBM InfoSphere, or Microsoft Visio.

  • Solid understanding of relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and metadata management principles.
  • Ability to produce high-quality model documentation and uphold data modeling standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to design and maintain robust data models that support analytics, BI, and operational systems across the enterprise. You will work closely with business analysts, data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that data structures align with business needs and best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data models for reporting, analytics, and application needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure models are fit for purpose.
  • Implement data modeling standards, documentation, and best practices across the organization.
  • Ensure data models support data quality, data governance, and performance optimization.
  • Support the development of data warehouse and BI ecosystems with optimized schemas (e.g., star/snowflake models).
