Medior Data Operations Expert (Databricks) About the Role We are looking for an experienced and passionate Medior Data Operations Expert (Databricks) to join our Digital Engineering Team. An IT Operations Expert is a professional who specializes in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our main IT services (Salesforce and Data Lake). This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the maintenance and monitoring of systems, assisting deployments, ensuring data security, and optimizing IT processes for reliability and efficiency. IT Operations Experts are critical in ensuring that Digital Factory’s technological systems are stable, secure, and capable of supporting business operations and objectives. As a Data Operations Expert, you will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Databricks-based data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include monitoring clusters and jobs, ensuring data quality, optimizing performance, and collaborating with Data System Specialist and Data Engineers to maintain reliable and cost-efficient workflows. You will play a key role in ensuring that our Data Lake architecture runs smoothly and supports business objectives. Main Responsibilities Monitor Databricks clusters and jobs for performance and reliability. Manage Delta Lake tables and implement data quality processes. Apply Spark optimization and cost-efficiency best practices. Collaborate with Data Engineers on ETL pipelines in Databricks. Maintain documentation for Databricks workflows and governance. Follow agile methodology and Databricks operational best practices. About Your Experience and Skills Education University or college degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. Certifications in cloud computing or Databricks are a plus. Experience 2+ years hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark. Strong Python and PySpark skills for data processing and automation. Familiarity with Delta Lake architecture and ACID transactions. Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Data Services and Databricks security/governance (Unity Catalog). Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks. Data pipeline monitoring & alerting Data quality checks & reconciliation DEV / TEST / PROD release support Retail IT domain background is a plus. Professional Competencies Proficiency in Databricks platform (clusters, jobs, notebooks, workflows). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Experience in agile methodology and Databricks best practices. Soft Skills Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-driven. Strong sense of ownership and team mentality. Growth mindset with passion for continuous learning. Fluent in English (Hungarian is a plus). Why Join Us?
