JOB SUMMARY:

As part of Ascot’s Data Strategy & Delivery business unit within IT, the Data Operations Lead will report to the AVP, Data Integration & Delivery Manager and will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts to ensure there is support for the data systems operations, such as compliance reporting analysis, data quality engineering and AI liaison specialist data collaboration. This role will be in the office with a hybrid work schedule.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Expert SQL skills
  • Proven experience using SQL to identify and correct data issues.
  • Deep Database knowledge, preferably SQL Server, Synapse
  • Strong scripting/SQL skills to perform data/file validation, analysis, and profiling.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret Data Models
  • Experience communicating highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding insurance domain data models, desired

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technologies as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer, with several years leading a development team.
  • Some experience in the Commercial and/or Specialty insurance industry is desired.
  • Strong understanding of financial data and concepts
  • Experience working with 3rd party providers.
  • Analytical, rigorous, with attention to detail
  • Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and verifying data, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Highly customer-centric both internally and externally.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment
Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, lead a team of data analysts while also being a hands-on developer, responsible for the following:
  • Compliance Reporting – ensuring that the company can adhere to legal reporting requirements.
  • SQL/Reports Development – responsible for designing, creating, and managing bordereau, data call reports based on data pulled from various databases.Operations Support – responsible for supporting the Operation Department data quality analysis.
