Description:

PTV GROUP. EMPOWERING MOBILITY FOR HUMANITY AS PART OF UMOVITY.

At PTV Group, we’re driven by a shared purpose: empowering smarter, safer and more sustainable mobility for humanity through advanced technology. As part of the international brand Umovity, we offer innovative software solutions and provide customized consulting. For over 40 years, we’ve been a leader in traffic planning, simulation, and real-time traffic management software. Trusted by over 2,500 cities worldwide, our solutions empower decision-makers to shape the future of mobility. We are proud of our global team of over 1,500 passionate individuals working across 28 locations. All united by a shared vision and a commitment to making a real difference.
Are you interested in complex data processing in a modern environment which has a direct impact on the way people move? Join us in shaping the future of mobility!

EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE

Basic:

  • You have a university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • You are excellent in software development (C#, Python, SQL).
  • You are experienced in CI technologies such as Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline or Github Actions and enjoy designing pipelines (including bash, powershell, etc.).
  • You are familiar with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • You are a strong team player (m/f/d) and enjoy learning and teaching about new technologies, methods, and solutions.
  • You speak and write English fluently.

Preferred:

  • You have professional experience with data architectures and know the difference between Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
  • You are familiar with data versioning and data lineage.
  • You worked in an agile working environment such as Scrum.

Responsibilities:

Our international team is working on the development of a modern, cloud-hosted data platform. We process vast amounts of big data using state of the art frameworks, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
The processed data is geospatial data related to mobility. For example, we use a new method to automatically generate dynamic urban traffic models. The multimodal road network is recorded down to the smallest detail. Artificial traffic is simulated by describing people’s daily activities - where they live, work, shop, and travel for leisure. This process involves integrating, combining, and enriching various data sources.

Our commitment to excellence extends to ensuring good data quality through intelligent automated testing. Stable, scalable, and reproduceable data processing takes place within a well-defined framework.

  • As part of an international team, you will specify, develop and improve a cloud-based data platform that enables scalable data processing workflows based on Kubernetes.
  • You will be actively involved in the integration of new technologies and ML/AI solutions into our products and services.
  • You deal with data governance topics such as versioning, security and testability of data and their implementation.
