Mō te tūranga | About the role We are looking for a Data Platform and Engineering Lead. This role can be based in Wellington or Christchurch. The role is responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership across data and platform engineering as well as people leadership of a small team. Āu mahi | What you’ll be doing This is a key role in which you’d be setting direction and ensuring high-quality delivery across data engineering, platform engineering and supporting cloud capabilities. Act as a technical authority for the data platform, data pipelines, and supporting cloud infrastructure. Balance hands-on contribution with people leadership, supporting team members through coaching, technical guidance, and day-to-day problem solving. Ngā pukenga kei a koe mō tēnei tūranga | What you’ll bring You’ll be an expert in leading data engineering and data platform solutions. Databricks experience is strongly preferred. You’ll have a deep understanding of modern data platform architectures. You might not have strong people leadership experience (we can provide mentorship as you grow in the role). You’ll have strong experience designing, building and operating scalable data pipelines and shared analytics platforms.
