This role blends people leadership, technical direction, delivery execution, and operational excellence to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and easy to use across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop senior/principal engineers responsible for data platform services and infrastructure. Build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Improve delivery practices, engineering processes, and operational rigor to ensure reliable, high-quality systems. Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute a clear roadmap. Translate strategic initiatives into actionable technical plans delivered through iterative, well-scoped milestones. Maintain high standards for architecture, scalability, code quality, reliability, and performance. Review architecture proposals, design documentation, and key implementations; provide hands-on technical guidance. Support incident response and operational readiness for critical systems when needed. Evolve platform capabilities that enable teams to efficiently access and analyze data. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). 5–7+ years of engineering management experience leading teams in data platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems. Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed data systems in cloud environments. Strong ability to review architecture, design docs, and code implementations. Proven track record managing complex systems, ambiguity, and production-critical environments. Experience with ingestion pipelines, storage systems, and data access platforms. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (or similar event streaming platforms). Familiarity with OLAP stores such as Apache Pinot or ClickHouse. Experience with data lake/warehouse tech: Amazon S3, Databricks, or Snowflake. Strong background in .NET, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms—especially AWS. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Apache Flink or Apache Spark. Background building observability/telemetry and data access platforms. Experience supporting high-scale, real-time systems.
