Description

The Data Practice Director is responsible for defining, growing, and delivering a differentiated data capability at SEP. This role blends strategic consulting, technical expertise, and organizational leadership to build a data-focused offering that complements SEP’s core software development services.
While this role does not include direct people management, it is a leadership position with significant influence. The Data Practice Director will provide mentorship, career path guidance, and technical direction to data-focused individual contributors, while also doing the hands-on work necessary to build and evolve the practice.
This role has responsibilities in 5 key areas:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in data strategy, architecture, OCM, engineering, or analytics, ideally in a consulting or services environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and AI/ML applications.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, mentor others, and build technical capabilities without direct management authority.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Experience building or scaling a data practice or capability is highly desirable.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for learning, teaching, and evolving practices over time.
