THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Data Privacy Assistant Director you’ll join EY’s Oceania Risk Management team. The Data Risk Team sits within the broader Risk Management team and is responsible for implementing EY’s data protection framework, protecting information that EY has responsibility for throughout the data lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and operational requirements. We are looking for a data risk / privacy professional to work with the existing team to enhance the program and deliver further capability to manage data risks given the increasing use of data at EY.
This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne however can be performed from any of our offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

  • 5+ years’ experience in data protection with a focus on data privacy, through either in house operational risk or compliance, a professional services environment, or information lifecycle / information governance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills with a proven inclusive and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be directly responsible for key components of the Data Protection Program including Privacy Impact Assessments, Vendor Due Diligence, Records of Processing Activities and Privacy consultations on a variety of different projects.
  • Draft policies, procedures and develop processes to support the governance and life cycle management or EY’s information.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with key internal and external data stakeholders (e.g., Service Lines, Functions, EY Technology, Legal) to drive the design and implementation of solutions across the business. Be a main point of contact for complex data handling queries.
  • Implement privacy controls and governance for emerging technologies such as Generative AI
