JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Data Protection Officer to oversee our data protection service to schools/businesses and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. The ideal candidate will possess some background in IT and a general understanding of data privacy laws.

EXPERIENCE

• relationship management skills
• Proven experience in IT or very tech savvy desirable
• Knowledge of database management systems.
• data protection legislation knowledge/awareness

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures in alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
• monitor/manage and complete subject access requests received in line with guidelines
• Monitor compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR and other relevant frameworks.
• Conduct regular audits of data processing activities to ensure adherence to established policies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to assess risks related to data security and recommend appropriate measures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Provide training and awareness programs on data protection best practices for employees.
• Manage incidents involving data breaches or non-compliance, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in legislation related to data protection.
