Description
Overview As our Data Science & AI Intern, you'll work directly with the Director of Operations and our data analytics team to implement machine learning solutions and data automation processes that drive operational efficiency. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in applying AI technologies to real-world logistics challenges with potential for future employment opportunities. Responsibilities Analyze operational datasets to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement Develop and implement machine learning models to enhance predictive capabilities Create automated data processing workflows using Python and other relevant technologies Collaborate with the data analytics team on special projects and initiatives Present findings and recommendations to leadership team Document processes, methodologies, and results for knowledge transfer Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new AI tools and technologies Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday work Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field Intermediate proficiency in Python programming Experience with data analysis and visualization libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.) Understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, Neural Network or PyTorch) Basic knowledge of database querying (SQL) Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team In-office position at our Sterling, VA headquarters
