Expected Length of Internship: * 3-month internship or longer. * As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, if it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position. Education/Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Applied Statistics, Computer Science preferred. * First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university. Required Skills/Competencies: * Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and advanced analytics tools. * Working knowledge of AI and Generative AI concepts, including LLMs, embeddings, prompt design, and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) for analytical and decision‑support use cases * Strong experience with data visualization and storytelling tools. * Working knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling and optimization techniques. * Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies. * Comfort working in cloud and enterprise data environments (e.g., Azure, data warehouses, APIs, ERP/SCM systems). Basic Internship Scope (Project): * Develop and deploy analytical, optimization, and machine‑learning models to support supply chain planning, execution, and optimization. * Apply AI and LLM‑enabled techniques to accelerate insight generation, scenario analysis, and decision support * Quantify performance gaps and improvement opportunities. * Automate data ingestion, transformation, analysis, and reporting from enterprise systems * Translate analytical outputs into executive-ready insights. * Contribute to digital transformation and continuous improvement programs by embedding analytics and AI into day‑to‑day decision‑making. * Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team. Estimated Salary Range: * $18.00-$30.00 hourly.
