Description
Welcome to Resideo, where we're on a mission to transform homes into intelligent, efficient, and secure living spaces through the power of IoT-connected devices. Our data and AI organization builds the intelligence that drives our products — from smart thermostats and leak detection to video analytics and predictive home health diagnostics. We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a high-performing team of data scientists working across Resideo’s product portfolio. This leader will oversee initiatives spanning HVAC performance modeling, leak detection, energy optimization, and home automation — translating raw telemetry into real-time insights and scalable data products. Role Overview The Data Science Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the vision for machine learning and statistical modeling across Resideo’s connected home ecosystem. You will partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to ensure our data science investments translate into measurable product and customer impact. This role requires both team leadership and hands-on technical depth — guiding model design, review, and deployment practices while nurturing a culture of experimentation and operational excellence. Job Duties: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists working on multiple product lines (e.g., HVAC diagnostics, water leak detection, and energy optimization). Drive the development, validation, and deployment of predictive and machine learning models in collaboration with software and data engineering teams. Promote engineering rigor through structured code reviews, well-maintained Jira boards, and clear project documentation to align data science outputs with business and technical goals. Partner with product managers to translate ambiguous business questions into measurable, data-driven experiments and insights. Establish best practices for model lifecycle management, including reproducibility, observability, and ML operations. Create alignment between data science, data engineering, and analytics organizations to ensure shared data assets and metrics frameworks. Represent the Data Science function in cross-company strategy discussions and roadmap planning. Champion continuous learning and development within the team, fostering curiosity and technical excellence. YOU MUST HAVE: 8+ years of combined experience in data science, applied ML, or related technical roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Proven track record of shipping machine learning or predictive analytics solutions in production environments. Deep experience with Python, SQL, and data science libraries (Scikit-learn, Pandas, TensorFlow/PyTorch, MLFlow). Familiarity with time-series modeling, anomaly detection, or sensor/IoT data pipelines. Experience in Databricks, Azure (or AWS) cloud ecosystems, and CI/CD pipelines for ML workloads. WE VALUE: Experience with HVAC systems or related IoT industrial applications Knowledge and experience with Databricks, PySpark, Jupyter notebooks, Git, AWS or Azure cloud environments A continuous learning mindset with a willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science and machine learning. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: Opportunity to have a direct impact on high-scale projects and products selling to millions of homes and businesses worldwide. Play a key role in driving a world where people are healthy, happy, safe, and secure through innovative AI and IoT solutions. Full ownership of a dynamic tech stack and the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies. Collaborate with high-performing, cross-functional teams in an agile and intellectually stimulating environment. #LI-MA1 #LI-HYBRID
