PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lead a team of 5-10 Data Scientists to work on highly complex projects and support ongoing analytic processes which will influence business decisions for Truist’s Lines of Business and Product partners. The Data Science Manager and team use advanced analytical skills, statistical methods (collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of the data), and software for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past client behaviors to gain insights into client and prospect targeting, client journey and engagement and identifying clients’ needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics/Advanced Analytics, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent education and related training
2. Ten years of related experience
3. Experience working with SAS, Python, R, SQL, or other data manipulation tools for predictive analytics
4. Demonstrated experience managing teams and projects in a complex analytical environment
5. Excellent problem solving skills with a demonstrated record of success in an internal or external consulting environment
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
7. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Manage many significant data analytics projects which involves broad latitude and judgment regarding the management of assigned projects including scoping, approach design, assignment of tasks, and accountability for deliverables.
2. Lead a team of data scientists. Provide coaching and guidance to team members, understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and goals to support the appropriate opportunities for career development and enhancement. Provide performance evaluations in accordance with Truist guidelines. Work with teammates to establish development plans, and provide regular coaching and feedback to members of the team.
3. Drive overall team standards in order to create an inclusive and energizing environment that empowers teammates to learn, grow and have meaningful careers.
4. Manage, monitor, and mitigate risk of the analytical products owned and/or co-developed by the team.
5. Provide thought leadership to business partners and scope strategic initiative for the enterprise analytical agenda.
6. Partner with Lines of Business and Products team to determine analytical solutions to support their businesses.
7. Present to management and executives with analytical findings to inform strategic decision making.
8. Advance Best-in-Class analytical capabilities throughout the organization.
