As a Data Scientist PhD Intern at Microsoft, you will use machine learning, statistics, experiments, and more to build and improve great products while making business impact. As a Data Scientist intern you will collaborate with stakeholders, formulate approaches to solve problems and use algorithms and data sources in the context of business and engineering needs. You will also be able to combine your engineering abilities with analytical skills to make customer experiences better. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (RQS)

• Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must graduate before the end of 2026
• You must be legally authorised to work in Netherlands to be eligible for this role.
• (Legally authorised = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science,
• OR related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
• Experience working as part of geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
• Demonstrated ability to work with customers and collaborate across company boundaries
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
