We are seeking an early to mid-career Data Scientist with a strong Physics/Math/Computer Science/Data Science background to work in the areas of machine learning, signal/image processing and detection, computer vision, physics-based modeling, and data analysis. This position can be based in our Northridge, CA or Falls Church, VA offices.

EXPERIENCES AND BACKGROUND WE LOOK FOR:

  • A degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or data science
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Demonstrated Python development of custom DNNs and algorithm streams with packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Gymnasium, and OpenCV
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with small teams
  • Willingness to work onsite in the office 100%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance and program access
Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, develop, and test custom AI/ML-based algorithms
  • Train Deep Neural Network (DNN) and feature-based algorithms for classification and regression on imagery and high-dimensional data
  • Work with software engineers to implement your algorithms in real-time on a variety of high-performance, CPU and GPU-based computing hardware
  • Quantify the effectiveness of your algorithms and present your results to the team and customers

The salary range for this role depends on the candidate’s level of professional experience:

  • Data Scientist 1: $90,000 - $120,000 [required BS degree or higher]
  • Data Scientist 2: $105,000 - $135,000 [minimum experience of BS+2 years, OR MS+0 years]
  • Staff Data Scientist: $120,000 - $150,000 [minimum experience of BS+5 years, MS+3 years, or PhD+0 year
