Description
SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist Associate to support our Navy team in Lexington Park, MD.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from Navy operational systems to ensure high-quality data for analysis.
• Use statistical techniques to analyze maintenance, supply chain, and operational data, identifying patterns and trends that affect mission readiness.
• Develop predictive maintenance models to forecast equipment failures and optimize preventative maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate disparate data sources into comprehensive, accessible databases.
• Document analytical methods and develop standard operating procedures for reproducibility and consistency in data analysis.
  Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelors degree in Data Science or related field and zero (0) years’ experience; Four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data from relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools to create insightful visualizations.
• Knowledge of statistical methodologies and their application in operational settings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to customer.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
  Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
