JOB SUMMARY

The Order to Delivery (OTD) Digital Solutions team is part of the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) and supports the Medium Engines OTD organisation, which consists of; the Operations, Supply Chain and Global Manufacturing Engineering and Technology (GMET) functions. We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the team and grow unique skills in a rapidly developing team and specialism in the Data and Analytics domain.
The purpose of the OTD Digital Solutions team is to drive the creation, use and adoption of Digital tools within the OTD function to help automate processes, create value for the customer, improve operational efficiency and achieve Profitable Growth
The OTD Digital Solutions team combines a unique blend of Data Analytics, Data Warehousing and Application development with functional skill and knowledge to deliver tailored Digital Solutions for the end user. The team also play an active role in shaping and supporting IPSD Medium’s Data Strategy and related projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, develop and deploy frequently used analytics and applications to OTD teams through Power BI Dashboards, PowerApps and other digital tools.
  • Support the manufacturing facility in Peterborough with real time data to track the flow of engines within the factory to help drive velocity and issue identification.
  • Access and navigate around our data infrastructure to use data to solve business problems.
  • Apply data science techniques on large datasets, deriving hidden insights, knowledge, and value for end users and sharing the insights via easy to consume visualisations.
  • Communicate analytical solutions and workflows to peers in regular reviews and presentations to end users and customers.
  • Influence future data infrastructure and technologies that the department adopts, helping to drive a data driven decision making culture and improving team processes and efficiency.
  • Work with a degree of autonomy both individually, and as part of a cross-functional team to deliver complex tasks concurrently.
