We are seeking a highly analytical and mission-driven Data Scientist for a contract position developing and enhancing forecasting models to support the needs of Olivine’s electric utility clients. This position is ideal for someone with strong expertise in predictive modeling, a deep understanding of time-series analysis, and a passion for applying data science in the energy sector. We are seeking only direct contracting with USA-based candidates at this time. This is a remote role.

This is a 6 month contract role based in the United States with a range dependent on
qualifications and experience from 55-85 USD per hour and ineligible for Company’s employee
benefit package.

Responsibilities

You will support internal teams developing models to provide actionable forecasts in service of
Olivine’s implementation of Demand Response (DR) and Distributed Energy Resource (DER)

programs.

  • Develop forecasting models to predict key factors supporting our utility programs
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights

in support of energy and climate-focused programs.

  • Design, build, and validate predictive models and/or machine learning algorithms to

support operational forecasting and optimization.

  • Collaborate with technical staff, program managers, and external partners to translate

business needs into analytical solutions.

  • Support the implementation of data pipelines to automate and integrate forecasts within

our software.

  • Provide technical expertise in data management, feature engineering, model

development, and performance evaluation.
