This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Scientist, Credit Risk Analytics in the United States. In this role, you will leverage data analytics and statistical modeling to optimize credit strategies, manage risk, and support financial sustainability while maximizing impact for underserved communities. You will work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and impact teams to analyze credit performance across the lifecycle—from application to portfolio management. By building predictive models and providing actionable insights, you will influence credit policies, balance risk with mission-driven goals, and contribute to decision-making at the organizational level. This position offers the opportunity to shape data-driven strategies in a collaborative, high-impact environment that values creativity, rigor, and measurable outcomes. \n Accountabilities Perform quantitative analysis to evaluate credit performance and profiles across the full credit lifecycle. Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models for underwriting, prospecting, account management, and collections. Recommend and refine credit strategy criteria based on marginal risk analysis, balancing mission impact and financial sustainability. Analyze internal and external data, including traditional and alternative credit sources, to guide credit strategy adjustments. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Lending Operations, and Impact teams to strengthen analytics and decision-making frameworks. Prepare and present insights, dashboards, and materials for credit risk committee meetings. Forecast credit losses using historical performance, current portfolio data, and projected loan volumes. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analytics, finance, or credit analysis; small business lending experience a plus. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data manipulation/analysis techniques. Strong problem-solving skills, independent thinking, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to multiple stakeholders. Strong ownership mentality, time management skills, and ability to work independently across distributed teams. Data-driven, solutions-oriented, and motivated to drive measurable results.
