Overview:
Falconwood is a woman-owned, veteran-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, policy, cybersecurity, engineering, and process development.
The Data Scientist II will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of data-driven tools and technologies supporting the Commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) N6 Directorate, with a focus on delivering actionable insights across the Information Warfare enterprise.
Responsibilities:
This position supports strategic data engineering and analytics across NAVIFOR’s enterprise environment, contributing to Navy data strategy implementation. The candidate will support data pipeline design, analytics tool development, and the integration of insights into mission workflows. This is a hybrid position based in Suffolk, VA, with limited travel anticipated.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with Navy data platforms, workflows, and enterprise analytics environments
  • Experience with tools such as Jupyter, Jama Connect, Confluence, or similar collaboration environments
Responsibilities
  • Support system design and implementation of analytics tools for NAVIFOR’s Command Data Office (CDO)
  • Develop and maintain advanced data systems, platforms, and services in support of NAVIFOR’s data strategy
  • Assist in the integration of Navy data systems into cloud platforms and enterprise-wide analytics environments
  • Apply statistical techniques and machine learning to support descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics
  • Build and manage tools for data transformation, visualization, and pipeline automation
  • Support DON/DOD enterprise cloud integration and NAVIFOR performance measurement initiatives
  • Translate user needs into requirements for dashboarding, analytic reports, and model development
  • Collaborate across the IW domain to capture, structure, and analyze large-scale data from multiple Navy sources
    Qualifications:
    Education: Bachelor of Science in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
    Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience developing software and databases using modern analytics frameworks and tools
    Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required
