JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Data Scientist II supporting Finance AI2, you’ll be driving real change. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to unlock insights from complex datasets while automating and accelerating decision making for our Finance partners. This role is crucial in supporting our Finance partners (mainly with Canadian Personal Banking, but also Segment CFOs, FinOps, Chief Accountants and Productivity teams) with innovative solutions to drive insights and performance measurement while Finance landscape continues to evolve.

The ideal candidate has experience (or has the skills to):

  • Finance acumen and understanding of Finance business processes.
  • Working with various and large datasets.
  • Creating strong partnership with business partners.
  • Using multiple analytics techniques to support the business strategy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science).
  • 3-5 year of relevant experience; Experience in Banking Industry with finance designation (e.g. CPA) is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Mandatory: Advanced Excel (Power Pivot, Visualization and reporting), Alteryx, SQL, Hyperion SmartView
  • Nice to Have: Power BI, PowerApps, Tableau, PySpark, Databricks, WS FTP, GitHub
  • Experience with Machine Learning projects is an asset.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and ability to translate data insights into business recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting & delivering data science and analytics solutions to Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) Finance team.
  • Liaises with partners and colleagues within Finance to ensure consistency and create synergies.
  • Ensures strong governance for all the work executed by AI2 for Finance.
  • Occasionally out of office hours and weekend work may be needed from time to time e.g. quarter-ends.
