WHAT’S THE ROLE?

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Marketing Analytics team in Brooklyn! Learning new skills and techniques is not only a requirement but a perk of the job. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Analytics. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. QUALITIES THAT WILL HELP YOU THRIVE IN THIS ROLE ARE:

  • 2+ years of proven experience as a data scientist/analyst or in a quantitative role in which you extracted meaning from big data sets with little engineering support.
  • Experience with performance/digital marketing operations, channel attribution, churn and lifetime value models, analytical tools and infrastructure, and finding efficient growth strategies a plus.
  • Experience working on marketing measurement projects, such as building and deploying models (MTA, LTV, etc.) and running experiments (geoX, CLS, etc.), is a plus.
  • Proficient in SQL and either R or Python.
  • Proven ability to communicate your insights verbally, visually, and in writing with teammates and business partners.
  • Comfortable guiding others, recommending tools and standard methodologies to improve the efficiency of the teams work.
  • Strong, independent, analytical problem solver who enjoys thinking about and solving complex and nuanced problems.
  • Passionate about subjects such as experimental design, data visualization, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization software a plus.
