Engage directly with life sciences clients, both domestic and multinational, to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data science solutions. Analyze and interpret data from sources such as IQVIA, Veeva, and local vendors (e.g., JMDC, Medical Data Vision, Nihon Ultmarc), ensuring insights are aligned with Japan’s unique hierarchical data models. Collaborate with offshore delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of analytics projects, acting as a bilingual bridge between client stakeholders and technical teams. Contribute to the development of analytics strategies, data pipelines, and machine learning models tailored to commercial effectiveness, patient journey analysis, and real-world evidence (RWE). Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal capability building within the Insights & Data team. Requirements Technical skills At least 5, preferably 10+ years of experience in data science and analytics, with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector in Japan. Consulting background preferred. Deep understanding of Japan-specific health data sources and vendors; familiarity with IQVIA, Veeva, and local data providers like JMDC and MDV is highly desirable. Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus. Problem-solving skills with strong analytical ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to collective goals. Native-level fluency in Japanese (native or JLPT N1 or equivalent) and business-level proficiency in English. Ability to work flexibly across client environments—remote, hybrid, or on-site as required.
