MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Expertise – Two to five years of experience applying advanced analytic techniques (data modeling, data visualization, descriptive statistics) to solve complex business problems
  • Experience with PowerBI (Dax, Query Editor), Python, SQL, Java, strong database skills.
  • Project Leadership – Ability to execute small to medium scale projects with the ability to define scope schedule, cost, risk, resources and change management
  • Education Requirements – Advanced degree (currently enrolled or completed) or Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years experience in analytical competency (Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, etc.) is required.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Portfolio Data Scientist is a key analytics role within the R&D IMPACT Portfolio Management team, responsible for driving actions that improve business performance, productivity and continuous improvements through the R&D Organization.
Reports to: Sr. Global R&D Portfolio Leader
Span of Control: Individual contributor that works across Enterprise

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply advanced analytics to ensure visibility and exposure of critical data, necessary for proper portfolio investment decisions.
  • Compile and Visualize key Innovation metrics into KPI dashboards for communication to executive leadership.
  • Validate data model output with key business and R&D partners to ensure high data quality.
  • Work in a team environment to advance understanding of R&D processes, outcomes and investment profile.
  • Apply deep and broad knowledge of advanced analytical techniques.
  • Communicate across engineering and business colleagues at all levels of the organization and collaborate in a business-sensitive manner that is flexible and unbiased.
