Description
SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist located in Pearl City, HI to support the USINDOPACOM J7 Directorate to manage the collection, cleaning, processing, and analysis of large datasets to extract insights and ensure data integrity and accuracy. JOB DESCRIPTION: Develop and deploy predictive models, algorithms, and real-time support systems for operations, enhancing efficiency and providing actionable insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities, conduct research, apply emerging technologies, and optimize dashboards for stakeholder communications. Assist the INDOPACOM J7 Analyst Team with data collection, tracking, and analysis, generating reports to support operational needs, including financial document preparation for contract approvals. Oversee contract labor tracking, travel management, Official Representation Funds (ORF) monitoring, requirements processing, and reconciling accounts and programs, supporting integrated financial systems and resource management tasks. Manage supply requests via ERP systems, prepare and present slides for meetings, support the Defense Travel System (DTS) documentation review, ensure correct line-of-accounting charges, and assist with military and civilian award packages. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and five (5)+ years of experience; additional four years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. Experience in data science and/or analytics roles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. Extensive experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge and practical experience with statistical techniques, machine learning, and data science methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. DESIRED SKILLSET: Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) software and systems. Familiarity with cloud platforms and big data technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for implementing process improvements. Experience with financial systems, including SMARTS and SABRS. Practical experience in awards packaging, administrative package preparation, and maintaining personnel databases. REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TSSCI. Must have Current US Citizenship.
