Description
We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join our Commercial Finance Analytics team based in the Business Finance COE Center in Pune, India. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help define, manage, and optimize data assets in a scalable and sustainable manner. This role will contribute to the development of tools, dashboards, and analytics that provide actionable, data-driven insights into business operations. The key objective of this position is to apply core analytics methodologies including statistical analysis, trend modeling, and basic machine learning to uncover insights, support recommendations, and enable data-informed decision-making across the organization. The role focuses on contributing to the development of a unified data ecosystem and applying analytics techniques to deliver actionable insights. Support analytical projects: Assist in defining problems, exploring data, and developing models that align with business goals to support growth and efficiency. Contribute to data platform development: Help build and maintain systems to collect, process, and visualize data from various sources for analysis. Apply analytical techniques: Use statistical methods and basic machine learning to identify trends and translate data into meaningful insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with business partners to understand business processes and contribute to designing data solutions that fit operational needs. Provide ongoing analytical support: Deliver historical and trend-based insights to help teams make informed decisions. Identify opportunities for analytics: Participate in identifying use cases where data science can add value and support capability development within the team. Data modeling and process improvement: Design data models that improve workflows, reduce risk, and support strategic initiatives. Minimum bachelor's degree in mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 3-5 years of experience - manufacturing industry exposure preferred Microsoft Power BI and Data science experience mandatory. SQL language query mandatory. Data Engineering - extracting (relevant data), transforming (cleaning data), and loading (calculating & integrating) data from multiple sources to a single repository - mandatory. Strong analytical skills- prior experience of working on big data analytics projects - preferred. Strong business acumen in the candidate's respective industry. Ability to multi-task and be proactive & independent in a dynamic environment. Highly motivated individuals with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strategic and Critical approach towards solving problems and decision making. Results-oriented; proven ability to prioritize, drive and achieve results.
