Datalinx is responsible for implementing and leading the TMX enterprise approach to innovative technology and data driven solutions. The purpose is to build a richer client experience across the capital markets community by providing ready access to data and analytics products. Datalinx works in collaboration with all TMX business areas to develop and deliver solutions and strategies that benefit the organization at large. The three components of the business include:

• Product Development: This includes solutions delivered by TMX directly, in partnership with others, or via external platforms
• Platform Strategy and Management: TMX will bring products and channels together to create an interactive client community that will serve to inform and encourage new effective solutions
• Insights & Analytics: The design, creation and delivery of new data-driven solutions and capabilities across our entire business

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining an expanding array of robust statistical models to empower highly customized Investment Analytics products.
• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining an expanding array of robust predictive models and applications.
• Interact with internal and external customers including Banks, Hedge funds, ETF Issuers, TMX CDS, TMX Markets, and Montreal Exchange.
• Serve as the go-to team member for technical inquiries regarding the current Investment Analytics suite of products.
• Contribute to data science initiatives by recommending actionable business insights using big data analytics and machine learning techniques.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation specifying data sources, models, and algorithms used and developed.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to deploy models and algorithms in production environments.
• Develop and implement processes to generate analytics from across Datalinx.
• Collaborate closely with product team to identify and develop new value-added products and capabilities.
• Contribute to the financial success of Investment Analytics in alignment with the Product Strategy.

Must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM program.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark.
• Proficiency in Cloud infrastructure with experience in AWS.
• Strong background in statistics and mathematics with solid knowledge in regression, time series analysis, tree methods, neural networks, and sampling.
• Highly proficient in building statistical and algorithmic models using complex and large datasets, including supervised statistical learning, time-series analysis, regression analysis, and data visualization.
• Capability to architect highly scalable distributed systems using various open-source tools.
• Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
• Strong passion for empirical research and answering challenging questions with data.

Nice to haves:

• Proficiency in Lambda, Redshift, Glue, Athena, and Airflow.
• Understanding of capital markets and exchange microstructures.
