Summary: VPP is building an AI-enabled platform that helps our veterinary practices deliver the highest-quality animal care. Analyzing and operationalizing the data we know about our clients and hospitals into advanced analytics will be a critical pillar to this platform. We’re looking for a hands-on marketing focused Data Scientist who can turn that vision into models, experiments, and shipped product—partnering closely with marketers, veterinarians, staff, and designers/engineers in a try/fail-fast, AI-driven development culture. What you’ll do Work closely with marketing, growth, operators and hospital staff to discover opportunities to enhance client acquisition, retention and upsell. Build the engine. Develop predictive and prescriptive models across the client journey that power acquisition, retention, and advertising efficiency. Lean into AI at scale. Use LLMs and ML algorithms where each is strongest Measure relentlessly. Design and run A/B tests and bandit experiments. Ship with a platform mindset. Create clean training datasets, features, and model artifacts. Continuously enrich signals. Explore first and third-party data and engineer features that capture clinical throughput, client retention, churn risk, and velocity. Stay current. Track advances in algorithms, evaluation, GenAI safety, and cost/performance tradeoffs—and apply them pragmatically. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or technical field. 3 to 5 years of hands-on data science experience with EDA, predictive modeling and model-driven systems. Expertise leveraging advanced analytics to help optimize Google Ads and Social Media marketing campaigns. Experience working with digital marketing data including attribution modeling and/or MMM. Proficiency building, tuning, and refining models in Python (IE, pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost/LightGBM, PyTorch). Strong SQL experience analyzing large-scale consumer or operational datasets. Proficiency with A/B testing and statistical inference; comfort designing pragmatic experiments. Metrics-driven development mindset with a data-first approach to problem solving. A team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Extreme growth mindset; deep humility with unwavering resolve to drive exceptional performance.
