Role Overview We are looking for an engineer who can work across data and software domains — building reliable data pipelines, developing internal tools, and improving our business intelligence capabilities. The role combines hands-on data engineering with backend software development to enhance how teams access, transform, and use data. Job Description Design, build, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines (Python, SQL). Develop and maintain internal tools that improve data accessibility and insight generation. Work with the product manager and other development teams to define data interfaces and integration points. Optimize performance and reliability across data workflows and reporting systems. Collaborate with peers on architecture, deployment, and best practices. Contribute to long-term design decisions to improve scalability and maintainability of the data ecosystem. Tech Stack: Languages & Frameworks: Python (data processing, orchestration, automation) Query Engine: Starburst (Trino) for distributed SQL analytics Visualization & BI: Apache Superset for dashboarding and data exploration Database: PostgreSQL as a core relational data store Version Control & CI/CD: Git-based workflows for continuous integration and deployment Qualifications 3+ years of experience in data or software engineering. Strong Python and SQL skills. Experience with data modeling, ETL design, and performance optimization. Familiarity with BI tools and modern data architectures. Understanding of software engineering principles (version control, testing, modular design). Ability to balance pragmatic delivery with long-term architectural thinking. Nice to Have Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar). Familiarity with APIs and backend service integration. Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure). You’ll Succeed If You Enjoy switching between data and software problems. Think critically about trade-offs and long-term maintainability.
