Position Summary  The Data Specialist is an entry-level role responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and complete information in the agency’s database. This position supports program operations by entering client-level data, processing fiscal and human resource requests, tracking program Development projects and expenses, running queries, preparing reports and presentations, and ensuring documentation is in place for audits and compliance reviews. The Data Specialist plays a key role in supporting quality assurance and data integrity across the agency.  About St. John's Founded in 1826 as a home for orphaned children, St. John’s has evolved into a nonprofit social services agency providing residential care to New York City youth involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. We offer holistic, trauma-informed support to young people up to age 21.   Our main campus in Rockaway Park, Queens, houses a Residential Treatment Center, Close to Home Non-Secure Placement programs, administrative offices, clinical services, and an on-site NYC Department of Education school. We also operate a Non-Secure Detention residence in Richmond Hill and Limited Secure Placement programs in Brooklyn and Staten Island.   St. John’s is dedicated to helping youth heal, grow, and build the skills they need to achieve their goals and return to family or a stable, supportive environment as engaged members of their communities.     Key Responsibilities  * Accurately enter client, program,human resource,developmentand fiscal request data into the agency’s database. * Run queries and generate reports to support program monitoring, evaluation, and compliance needs. * Assistin preparing presentations and summaries for internal and external stakeholders. * Gather and organize supporting documentation for audits,monitoringvisits, and quality reviews. * Respond to data-related inquiries from program staff, leadership, and external partners. * Maintain confidentiality andcomply withall data protection and child welfare regulations. * Support special projects and other data-relatedtasks asassigned. * Compile monthly statistics and quarterly outcome metrics to inform quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with program leadership.   Minimum Qualifications  * Associate’s degree. * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to learn new database systems quickly and follow data entry standards. * Strong written and verbal communication skills.   Preferred Skills  * Experience with data entry, reporting, or administrative support in a nonprofit or human services setting. * Familiarity with child welfare programs and reporting requirements. * Experience handling sensitive information andmaintainingconfidentiality.   Additional Requirements  * Must pass all background checks as required by agency, ACS, and OCFS. * Ability to handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Commitment to the agency’s mission and values, including equity, accountability, and service to children and families.
