DATA SPECIALIST:

On behalf of our Digital client, Procom is searching for a Data Specialist for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Calgary office.

DATA SPECIALIST - JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Data Specialist to join the team and provide support in designing and developing data products. This role is crucial for ensuring deliverables continue to be met during a maternity leave backfill within the Digital department. The Data Specialist will work on scalable data solutions and collaborate with various teams to enhance data products.

DATA SPECIALIST - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of working experience within an Enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence experience in an agile environment.
  • Expertise with Microsoft BI toolset (PBI, Power Automate).
  • Experience with Snowflake, WhereScape, Informatica, Azure DataFactory.
  • Proficiency in leading large scale data analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Broad understanding of information security and designing solutions with embedded security controls.

DATA SPECIALIST – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience in airline data and familiarity with Sabre and CAE applications.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in the airline industry.
  • Proficient in collaborating with others to design, code, test, and document programs.
  • Excellent at working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support scalable data solutions and data products.
  • Produce detailed designs and document work using required standards and tools.
  • Take ownership of problems and proactively resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate product design and development activities across product delivery pods.
  • Work with operational partners to ensure supportability of new features/products.
  • Improve data products through enhancements and automation opportunities.
  • Provide technical and data expertise leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the Analyst group.
  • Lead workshops, presentations, and training for skill and knowledge development.
