Description

Strategic Business Systems (SBS) is expanding our team in Wiesbaden, Germany supporting a federal government contract. In this role the candidate will play part in supporting the storage and backup environment for the customer. This is a full-time opportunity with SBS.

  • The candidate will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SAN and NAS storage/archiving services, including fiber switching within AEDC and other applicable locations. They will manage storage solutions using NetApp and Cisco MDS fabric switches, schedule and manage snapshots, and utilize replication techniques to support disaster recovery and failover operations. The specialist will also manage storage assets as directed in approved Requests for Change (RFC), including utilization tracking and alert notifications.
  • The role requires providing expertise to maintain and expand cluster management and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies within RCC-E
  • Responsible for adapting storage solutions to evolving mission requirements and technological advancements.
  • Deliver core hour support for storage engineering services. They will configure, develop solutions, and troubleshoot SAN and NAS storage/archiving systems, ensuring compatibility with current (NetApp and Cisco MDS) and future storage solutions. They will also schedule and manage snapshots, replication techniques, and failover operations for disaster recovery, while managing storage assets in line with RFCs, tracking utilization, and issuing alerts as necessary.
  • Plan and manage the installation, configuration, and tuning of SAN and storage hardware/software, ensuring optimal performance and integration within the enterprise hosting environment.
  • Configure, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the RCC-E Enterprise Backup/Disaster Recovery solution (currently Veritas NetBackup) to ensure backup and restoral operations are IAW established retention periods and recovery objectives.
  • The candidate will ensure backups are completed daily and archived according to RCC-E procedures.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of specialized experience, or an Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of specialized experience, or a major certification plus seven (7) years of specialized experience, or 11 years of specialized experience.

Required Certification/ Special Requirements:

  • NetApp NCDA (NCIE) or Veritas VCS or Veritas VCP or Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator (RCSA)
  • IAT III Baseline Certification: DoD 8570.01-M, IA workforce certification (CASP, CISSP, etc)

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Four (4) years of experience using, developing, and maintaining specific applications software such as, Microsoft Azure cloud applications, CA Spectrum Infrastructure Manager or Implementer, Oracle, HP ArcSight, CA CAPC EM2P or WebEOC.
  • Four (4) years maintaining TCP/IP Networks.
  • Two (2) years of experience with UNIX or Microsoft server based platforms.
  • Two (2) years of experience with any enterprise network monitoring and reporting software (manufacturer non- specific); two (2) years direct experience with U.S. military command and control or commercial LAN/WAN communication systems.
  • Experience with Cisco MDS, NetApp technology to include ONTAP, SnapVault, and SnapMirror, and Windows 2012/2016 server.

Desired:

  • Experience in data center operations and maintenance, experience in disk snapshots, storage, and replication to support disaster recovery and failover operations, experience in storage connectivity, allocation and infrastructure, experience in disaster recovery planning and execution, experience with U.S. Military Command and Control Communications Systems, experience in a Network Services Support of Consulting.

Security Clearance

  • Current U.S. SECRET clearance required (Limited/Privileged User Access).
