The Department of General Services’ Office of State Procurement (DGS OSP) Data Strategy Analysts play a pivotal role in elevating the agency’s approach to data governance, collection, analysis, visualization, and strategic reporting. This position is designed to help DGS OSP move from reactive data reporting to proactive, data-driven decision-making support by improving the structure, quality, and usability of procurement and contract data.
Reporting directly to the Chief of Innovation and Continuous Improvement (CICI), Data Strategy Analysts will assess and document the current state of procurement data systems and workflows, identify bottlenecks, and recommend strategic improvements to support long-term modernization and performance optimization. The core focus of this position is to establish and promote best practices in data governance, including standardized data definitions, collection methods, validation processes, and data management protocols.
The Analyst will also develop advanced data visualizations and apply business analytics techniques such as forecasting, trend analysis, and performance benchmarking to inform strategic sourcing initiatives and procurement decision-making. The Analyst will collaborate with the Innovation and Continuous Improvement (ICI) Data Team and other agency stakeholders to develop sustainable data infrastructure that supports consistency, integrity, and reuse of data over time.
