Job Description PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (AFFILIATE) As a member of the team in our Global Business Solutions (GBS) center, conducts data processing in the analysis of various matrix samples, e.g. textiles, plastics, food, cosmetics and water of various parameters in chemical lab. In particular, validates, calculates and reports lab results to strict quality and ethical standards. The Data Validator II position is also obliged to participate in training and mentoring of Data Validator I team members as required. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Performs various data processing functions, including laboratory data and QA calculations and integrations, peer review for error reduction and/or quality control checks, LIMS entries, and other data management functions as required. Train and provide constructive feedback to Data Validator I team members as required. Ensures lab deadlines are met and the GBS Team Coordinator (or section Lab Manager in their absence) is notified immediately if the turnaround time specified cannot be met. Ensures all testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO17025 and assigned SGS lab standards where applicable. Keeps Affiliate Manager, GBS Supervisor and any other key Affiliate personnel informed immediately of all operational issues,including: Personnel matters affecting performance, Failure to meet turnaround requirements, Failure to meet ISO17025, country certifications and assigned SGS lab standards where applicable, Inconsistencies in quality control procedures so they may be rectified immediately, Additional training requirements identified. At all times, complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct. Remains familiar with SGS qualityassurance procedures. Complies to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures. Ensures that Affiliate deadlines are met and that the GBS team coordinator (or lab section manager in their absence)is notified immediately if the specified turnaround time cannot be met. Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of departmental goals or for his/her personal orprofessional training, education or development as programmed by his/her immediate superior. Participate in scheduled weekly or monthly discussions with team members, lab affiliates, and supervisors asneeded, to ensure immediate and ongoing issues are addressed. Ensures that the workspace kept clean and presentable at all times. Qualifications PROFILE AND SKILLS Master of Science degree, Analytical Chemistry is strongly preferred. BSc is allowed with min 3 yrs working experience. A minimum of two-year working experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments (LC-MS and/or GCMS) is required. First experience with complex injection techniques, for instance headspace GC is a plus Lab testing experience with at minimum two or three matrices, e.g. food and environmental samples is required, more is preferred. ”MassHunter” and/or ”MultiQuant” and/or ”Analyst” software platforms knowledge is required, more knowledge about software platforms is preferred. Demonstrated commitment to data quality and operational excellence. A highly understanding of analytical quality as a personal naturally is mandatory. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong MS Excel skills First experience with Python, AI programming, and data science is a plus. First experience with SAP is a plus Detail-oriented with the ability to identify minor discrepancies. Strong sense of responsibility for the quality and integrity of the work assigned. Proficient in effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, manage time effectively. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate efficiently in diverse work environments.
Responsibilities
