POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our corporate databases. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and security, while collaborating on projects that drive the company’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and maintenance.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of database administration including performance tuning, security, data replication, backup and recovery.
  • Familiarity with Redgate, Visual Studio, Github, PowerBI, SSRS and SSAS.
  • Experience with performance and automation tools plus scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of data security practices and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with AWS RDS cloud database services.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
  • One or more relevant industry certifications will be an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain database systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Plan and implement database designs, storage solutions, and migrations.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data recoverability.
  • Design, configure, and maintain SQL Server replication across distributed environments.
  • Manage and evolve database schemas in coordination with developers and data architects to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance with business requirements.
  • Configure and manage SQL Server instances.
  • Work closely with Infrastructure team on firewall rules, port configurations, and networking concerns related to SQL Server.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages to support ETL processes, data transformation, and integrations between systems.
  • Proactively identify and resolve production database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick turnaround during incidents.
  • Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database-driven applications.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies; recommend improvements.
  • Performs other special assignments and related duties as assigned.
